A touch

A bite

A whip

A cut

A blow

An insult

A hurt

An insinuation.

Sorry.

Okay.

A gift

A hand

A stab

A gossip

Betrayal

Sorry.

But why?

Love, they called it: love unrequited

Agbelitime love.

They say when you are doing it and you hold on to one

And it breaks

Hold onto another.

That’s the rule of the game

But my friend didn’t know

But the other one knew all the rules of engagement of agbelitimelove.

One went with a heart,

Another went with a stomach.

Hehehhehhehehhe.

The gown

The dowry

The ring.

The Bible.

The house.

The car.

The money.

The kiosk.

The documents.

The trust.

The advisors.

Virginity and innocence lost!

Fiends lost.

The prices unaccounted for.

It was on the street,

In a street court where the differences,

The real love differences were tabled.

A free gate show.

Fiery trade of secrets couched in unfriendly language:

Love turned sour.

It was love,

It is love,

It will be love.

I dog you, sake of I love you.

Go practise your things elsewhere.

You have my permission to go,

Go, because I love you;

Go, because I want you to be happy;

Go meet your agbelitime love match.

For I ‘aint your match, adieu my love.

William Adjei-Tuadzra

Welcome to my corner of stories, insights, and creative musings. I’m a writer who weaves narratives in both standard English and pidgin, capturing the essence of life’s everyday moments and the complexity of human experiences. My passion lies in blending sociolinguistics, culture, and creativity to tell stories that resonate. Whether it’s through blogging, videography, or a touch of literary flair, I aim to connect with readers, spark conversations, and explore new perspectives. When I’m not writing, you’ll find me behind the camera, shaping visual stories, or reflecting on the power of words to inspire and transform or tutoring. Join me on this journey as I share my world—one story at a time.
